1. He thinks the whole world should be able to vote for the President of the United States.
From Rolling Stone:
"But I think that, really, the fair thing would be, in electing the American president, to let everyone in the world vote, because it affects all of us."

Paul McCartney was in an Apple commercial...
I know he has, P. McCartney has sold out in recent times as well. I admit that I love Coldplay's first dos albums a ton, I just think that they have polluted their creative tank with their last 2 albums from non existent pressure to be something they are not.
5. Even worse, he worships Bono too.
On U2, "Our album doesn't have a single song on it as good as 'With or Without You' or 'Where the Streets Have No Name.'"
Translation: We fucking suck at music.

Bobby Dylan was also in an apple commercial. If you are calling him a sellout i will be a little upset. I love this blog and am a huge fan of it, especially the respect you have for Jim James and the boys, but Coldplay is a legit band. sure, some albums have been weaker than others, and ROBTTH has yet to be surpassed, but the band has amazing talent. Violet Hill? If you can watch Coldplay's performance of Politik at the Grammys and not get chills, you dont have a soul. As for the cheap blow you took to U2's "Where the streets have no name", (despite the fact that the album its in, Joshua Tree is widely recognized as one of the greatest albums of all time) the intro alone has more feeling than some bands acheive in their whole career. I dont think any of you have really listened to either band with an open mind.
Hey Anonymous,
I didn't take the jab at that U2 song, just so you know. I regularly listen to "Parachutes" and "AROBTTH" and think they are absolutely classic albums. The problem I have with Chris Martin is that after these albums he really seemed to blow up and become an outspoken idiot on a bunch of shit he doesn't know a damn thing about. I know lots of artists do this but when you are the size of Coldplay a lot more people hear that voice and look up to that voice. And on top of that it seems like whenever I see a video of them live theses days (post AROBTTH) he rarely has an instrument in his hands, instead he is running around attempting to dance like Bono on a case of fuckin Red Bull. Honestly, I can care less if you are an international spokesman for 15 different brands, I just have a problem with him and Bono and that is why it pisses me off. What seems to be there general mind set annoys me I suppose. And as I said, I like their first 2 albums a lot and this is just my opinion of the guy.
And I have never listened to U2 just becasue of the fact Bono consistently makes himself look like an idiot and I just cannot get over that. When I see a video of him at a concert walking around his huge 360 degree stage holding his arms up like he is some kind of messiah I want to puke.
