Caleb Travers

The Steam Engine's long time friend Caleb Travers has a new website - It is ripe with updates, free music and pictures.

For those of you unfamiliar with Caleb Travers check him out, he is an amazing songwriter on the cusp of becoming a staple in the alt-country world. His album Blue Weathered Dreams was a favorite of mine last year and has been a regular in my rotation since I've owned it.

Check his website for more free stuff or our 2008 interview located here. Available for download today is a live only track called Take You For A Ride.

Dan Auerbach w/ James Quine - Trouble Weighs A Ton

Dan Auerbach is the absolute man. The Black Keys rock ass and his new solo album rocks major ass. His solo LP came out today, go buy it, it is honestly one of the best albums I have heard in a long long time; the man has a voice like no other and plays the guitar like black man in the under belly of Chicago circa 1960. The first track on the album, Trouble Weighs A Ton, is being performed here with his unlce or cousin (I have heard both). The MP3 and the video are available for download.

Ashes of American Flags Trailer

This looks like it is going to be good, I had a pretty big grin whilst watching. Just the short clips they showed looked like they did a good job of catching the intensity of Wilco's live show.

Does anyone know if this is going to be available in Blu-Ray? I read that it was filmed in high def but the official site only mentions the DVD.

Jim James - Live On Triple - 2009-1-30

Thanks TW for sending this on to me. Jim talks about the accident a bit and also talks about what Look At You from Evil Urges is about. The Australian cover song they play a snippet from is interesting too. The last song, Syonara, a cover, is beautiful.

This download is broken up into individual songs, the download on their site is one long MP3.

1. Intro/Interview
2. Look At You
3. Interview II
4. Interview III
