This is an interesting article and in no way is he trying to decide which is better. James is often compared to Young and I can see why. They both have that unique voice, that instantly recognizable tone and style to their guitar playing and they are both always moving forward as musicians; bouncing from style to style, exploring unknown territory. The same with Ryan Adams and Jeff Tweedy. Those three guys should do something together. Then again, maybe not, the entire Universe may implode from an extra large dose of awesomeness and then we all would be fucked.
