Thank you, this is very nice. Sam Beam wrote the song "He Lays In The Reins" as well as all the songs on the album titled "In The Reins" which is a collaboration between Sam Beam and Calexico, who added their trademark alt-desert-noir flourish to his songs. It's a great album. But technically it's not a Calexico cover. I think Nick the KCRW guy misspoke when he said that, and Sam Beam was too kind to correct him on the air.
