The Beatles - The Alternate Abbey Road

I snagged this over at Blog Stoned and I must say this is pretty cool. I feel like rare Beatles shit does not come along very often but at the same time I have never once looked so who knows. These are all early takes, alternates, instrumentals, jams and mono mixes.

The Beatles do not get much time in my regular listening, probably because I have listened to it so much, but when they do they stir sensations not often felt when listening to music. Enjoy.

Sonic Youth - The Diamond Sea

In recent months I have been getting into Sonic Youth. Daydream Nation and Goo are all I have and I adore both. This song is playing on The Cardinals website and that is how I got my first exposure.

I really think this song is perfect. The use of distortion and feedback is fantastic, for some reason I have always found tunes like these extremely calming.

New Cardinals album October 27th?

Is it possible? I do not know for sure but according to this website it is happening. We have heard this before so who knows...

I would post some Ryan Adams but I have exhausted my collection I think... My thinking though is that we will be getting a live album from the guys because the shows this tour have not been recorded via soundboard like in years past. It is just a theory and I may be wrong but that would be fucking cool.

Exclusive: Ryan's new LP

Ryan Adams & The Cardinals release new album Cardinology on October 27, PS can reveal.

The follow-up to 2005's Jacksonville City Lights, it's the band's first album to be billed as just Cardinals. They tour from November 10.

Adams has also been recording his first solo album to follow last year's Easy Tiger. He has described it as "an old-school crooner record".

Richard Wright (Pink Floyd) has died

This is very tragic news. He was a member of my favorite band of all time and I have always really enjoyed his work on all of Pink Floyd's material.
